When systematically disconnecting and attaching the DVR to the base, dust accumulates on the contacts, which prevents a tight connection. At the same time, the owners observe unstable operation and periodic shutdowns of the DVR.
Contacts can be wiped with a damp cloth, but this will not take long.
To ensure a reliable connection, I use universal or silicone grease – I apply a small amount directly to the contacts.
After that, the DVR always gets power and works reliably.
