The line for the production of in-line engines for trucks of the K5 generation has been modernized – now it is possible to produce not 12,000 engines per year, but 30,000.

About 40 different engine configurations are assembled on the line: for the main line, transport and heavy families of KAMAZ K5 vehicles, as well as for external consumers, the press service reports.

All these engines are of Euro-5 environmental class, with a working volume of 12 liters and a power of 380 to 630 hp. At KAMAZ, they say that during the year they cooperated with Russian suppliers – imported components of P6 engines were replaced with domestic ones.

Now, 910.15 model engines with increased torque of up to 2300 Nm are shipped from the engine plant to the car plant. At the end of December, it is planned to assemble the engine with new fuel equipment and an electronic control unit. And in the first half of 2023, it is planned to switch to the 910.50 model – it has a working volume increased to 13 liters, and fuel consumption is reduced by 1.8 liters / 100 km.
