We asked Za Rulem subscribers on Viber how they deal with this problem, and here’s what you answered us.
Of the 5338 votes, about 15% went to electric glass heating, which is part of the “winter package” in many modern cars.
A quarter of those surveyed said they simply start the car and wait until it is possible to heat the glass with a stream of warm air from the engine.
The same number said that they do not wait at all, but remove ice with a scraper.

The largest group, 34%, say they use auto start and get into a warm car with heated windows. Remember that for warming up the engine in the yard you can be fined from 1.5 to 3 thousand rubles.
And the answers that our readers wrote in the comments to the vote may be really unexpected for you:
“I use a washing machine – that helps a lot”, Seryoga writes.
“In the evening I put a lid on the glass – and in the morning there are no problems”, says Andrey Pestrev.
“And in the north we have cars under warm blankets”– answers Alexey Kapitanov.
You can summarize the conversation with Yuri’s comment: “I have a garage.”
