Testing of a neural network that can recognize dirty license plates is planned for next year on the Central Ring Road (TsKAD) in the Moscow region and on open sections of the M-12 highway.

“A machine vision based software solution will further recognize contaminated GRNZ that could not be identified at the toll lines,” The Telematics group, a developer of a solution in the field of intelligent transport systems, said this in a message.

The software with elements of the neural network is connected to the license plate recognition system of the company United Operator. It is working on a system of barrier-free payment on toll roads.

If the tests show a positive result, appropriate changes to the legal framework will be proposed to take the data into account when making administrative decisions.
