The Chinese have learned to make high quality interiors. Plastic does not emit a chemical smell, all panels fit exactly.
The driver’s seat is well-tailored and has pronounced lateral support. Admittedly, there is not enough height adjustment range.
The seat is adjusted so that even a person of average height sits high. At intersections you have to bow your head because the front of the roof blocks the view!
Back is comfortable
It is unlikely that anyone will complain about the landing, the amount of free space and the presence of pleasant options. There are cutouts in the backrests of the front seats to give more legroom. The central tunnel is low and does not hinder the legs.
According to factory data, the suitcase has a capacity of 412 liters. Doubtful! Most likely this takes into account the volume of the subsoil. The sides are trimmed with soft pile, which retains its presentation longer compared to plastic.
For the second row there is only one ventilation deflector. If there are two people behind, they will have to share heat or coolness.
Rides solid
Exeed LX is built on the T1X modular platform, on which the already well-known Chery Tiggo 7 or 8 are based. The SUV steers well, the ride isn’t bad either. Only minor irregularities are broadcast too clearly. I would like better sound insulation in the cabin.
Power 147 hp A 1.5-litre turbo engine is enough for a small crossover – it accelerates firmly. A variator works in conjunction with the motor, which changes the transmission ratio better and faster than a Chinese robot with two clutches.
There are no four-wheel drive versions. The Exeed LX is only available with front-wheel drive. And at the exit of the asphalt you have to remember this.
And what about reliability?
The issue of the reliability of Chinese cars is now even more acute than before. The Exeed LX engine is a supercharged Chery SQRE4T15C engine. This is our own development, although it would not have come about without the help of European engineers. The engine is completely composed of Chinese components.
Even such important elements as the turbocharger are made in China. The turbine bears the Garrett name, but is made in Shanghai. The injectors are also Chinese (United Automotive Electronic System) and are almost exactly the same as Bosch products (but not interchangeable).
The 025CHC variator is considered an in-house development. There were cases when a similar box on Chery crossovers “died” up to 50 thousand kilometers. How widespread this story is, time will tell.
Know how to listen
Exeed LX understands human speech! One of the interesting features is the recognition of voice commands. First you have to say, “Hello, Exeed.” And then say the command. Voice can open or close windows, sunroof, climate control or media system.
How much is it?
Exeed LX generally makes a good impression. Only two configurations are available (both front-wheel drive). Basic Luxury costs 2,739,900 rubles. More expensive Prestige – 3,039,900 rubles. By the way, Volkswagen Tiguan in versions similar in equipment will cost more.
