The “anti-crisis” equipment of the new Vesta will have a renewed appearance (2022 restyling, FL index), but at the same time the same interior and the 8-valve VAZ-11182 engine, now installed on the Largus and Granta models, Russkiy Avtomobil reports citing their own sources of information familiar with the progress of the project. Such machines will go on sale in September, according to the publication.

As you know, the VAZ-11182 is an evolution of the VAZ-11186 engine, adapted to the connecting rod and piston group and the cylinder head (cylinder head). The efficiency compared to its predecessor has increased by 3 hp. and is 90 “horses”.

According to the source, the use of the “old” VAZ-11186 on Vesta is also being considered, but only as a last resort. The fact is that in the cylinder head of the updated engine there are a number of Renault parts. However, the overall level of localization is considered acceptable, so for now the new VAZ-11182 is the main candidate for the engine compartment of the “simplified” Vesta.

But some more improvements are planned: the thread in the candlesticks will become M14x1.25 instead of M12x1.25 (Renault standard), because such candles are cheaper and are produced in Russia. Several cars with such engines have already been assembled and tested in Izhevsk, the newspaper reports.

Such an engine is of course cheaper than the current VAZ 16 valve units. However, the recent appearance of an 8-valve engine at Largus Cross gave a difference of only 10,000 rubles between identical configurations with different engines. Of course, Vesta is not only simplified by another engine. According to preliminary data, the plan is to abolish all airbags, except the driver’s, and the ERA-GLONASS system; questionable ABS and ESP.

  • In addition, engines are likely to “roll back” to Euro-2 standards – not just for Vesta, but also for the Granta and Niva families, where simplified versions are also expected.
  • “Driving” can be read in Viber.
