We are talking about the Renault Oroch, a 5-seater pickup based on the Duster, which has just been updated and now meets European standards. Today, this model is sold exclusively on the South American market, where small pickups are especially popular.
The car, which can carry up to 680 kg of cargo, received a new design, an improved interior and a number of technological systems. In appearance of the old model only the headlights remained. At the same time, the inscription “Duster” disappeared, and now Oroch is not a version, but a completely independent model.
The loading platform can hold (up to the sides) 683 liters. With a wheelbase of 2.83 meters there was not only enough space for cargo, but also for three rear passengers.
Salon copies the interior of the new Sandero for the European market. Round air ducts have disappeared, a new multimedia system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has appeared.
The top version now has a 1.3 TCe engine, whose power has been increased to 170 hp. This engine has a dual-fuel system, which “digests” both gasoline and ethanol, and is mated to a CVT X-Tronic gearbox. In the chassis, the pick-up is equipped with a 1.6 SCe engine with a power of 120 hp. and six-speed manual transmission.
A recent cross pickup for an active lifestyle Hyundai Santa Cruz is gaining popularity in the markets in which it is represented. Probably, a cheap pickup based on a crossover (which makes the car more comfortable) would also appeal to Russian motorists.
