The Ministry of Industry and Commerce demanded an end to the unreasonable overpricing of cars.

Greedy sellers are hiding behind a shortage of cars on the Russian market, but the department believes Russia has enough passenger cars left.

“Now the most important task for all market participants is to increase the availability of cars. No less important is the suppression of attempts to raise prices unreasonably, which arises, among other things, by creating artificial excitement around the alleged shortage of passenger cars.” The Ministry of Industry and Trade reports this in a statement.

The report notes that the industry is constantly working to meet the demand for cars, both through imports and an increase in domestic production.

The number of cars produced in the country and imported into Russia this year, but not yet registered with the traffic police, exceeds 120 thousand units, the Ministry of Industry and Trade cites data with reference to the statistics of the electronic passport and the Federal Customs Service.
