AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov said that the company expects to end 2022 with a profit. informs interfax.
“In 2022, we will produce approximately 220 thousand vehicles. Of course, this is less than last year, but in April the forecasts were much more pessimistic: the conveyor will be stopped for almost a year, and AvtoVAZ’s loss will be 30 billion rubles. But in the end, we work six days a week and at the end of the year, albeit small, we still make some profit, ”Sokolov said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel, as quoted by the agency.
According to the head of the company, in 2023 AvtoVAZ expects to produce about 400,000 cars and increase its production capacity. Sokolov, estimating that the auto giant’s share in the Russian automobile and light commercial vehicle market is 40 percent, said that he expects it to remain at the same level next year.
AvtoVAZ, which was then owned by the Renault-Nissan alliance, made a profit of 166 million euros at the end of 2021.
Also, Sokolov declarationdo not expect widespread distribution of electric vehicles in Russia by 2030, and promise before the New Year to present the first prototype of the electric Lada Largus.
