A scientist from Zelenograd has come up with a gadget that should significantly reduce the number of accidents at pedestrian crossings. The device is already protected by a patent of the Russian Federation.
The new technology is simpler and better than previous analogues. An antenna installed at a pedestrian crossing transmits a signal to the car to special equipment. It consists of a radio signal receiver, a processing unit and a signaling device in one housing.
Approaching the “zebra” at braking distance, the motorist hears a signal: this means that the pedestrian crossing is already close.
That’s just the average city driver doing dozens of crossings during their ride. And the more often a warning signal sounds, the more likely the driver will get used to it and at some point stop paying attention to such signals.
