The courts of cassation are already issuing sentences to car owners who have not informed the traffic police of their new place of residence. The new rules were established by the Second Court of Cassation of General Jurisdiction.
Now the driver himself must report to the National Traffic Inspectorate that he has changed his residence permit. Otherwise, the fines that come to the previous address, which the car owner does not know about, will increase several times.
For example, if a person has been fined five thousand rubles for not paying for parking, he will be fined another ten thousand rubles for evading the penalty. The performance fee of bailiffs can be added to these fines.
In the event that the driver does not pay an administrative fine, he may even be involved in community service for “evasion of the execution of an administrative fine” (20.25 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
