Traveler Wesley Snaps was kayaking off the coast of Belize when he saw an emaciated dog watching him hopefully on a remote island. Probably, she accidentally jumped into the water from a fishing boat, and now she could not leave the island alone. The dog could hardly swim for about a kilometer – the strong current near the island interfered.
Snaps, without a moment’s hesitation, with difficulty crossed the swift stream in a kayak and took the dog off the island. He named the dog Winston, took him to the nearest settlement and from there, after recovery procedures at the vet, took him home to Montana, where the dog saw snow for the first time. Now they have many good days ahead of them, including the celebration of the New Year.
