Driving in the snow entails many dangers that can lead to major and minor accidents. Driving expert Ilya Pimenov told about a few tricks that will allow you to drive relatively safely.
Reception first. According to the connoisseur, a lot depends on how you press the pedals. If it is impulsive, the risk of provoking a slip is higher. And that applies to both the accelerator and the brake. If you press the pedals smoothly, the car behaves more predictably and obediently.
By the way, many modern models have a special operation of the power unit for this. The bottom line is that the car does not respond as smoothly to pressing the accelerator pedal. Feel free to activate this mode. On regular cars, it is marked with a snowflake icon, and the button itself is located near the automatic transmission selector. Crossovers are more likely to have a mode selection washer, including a snow mode.
Second reception. Plan one and a half to two times more time on your usual route. This way you don’t have to rush and you don’t make mistakes while driving.
Receipt third. Make sure to keep your headlights on, even during the day. Better yet, fog lights. This will make your car more noticeable on the road in bad weather. No parking lights or even daytime running lights (DRLs) in heavy snowfall are not appropriate. Snow clings to the headlights, making the already dim light almost invisible in the rear-view mirrors of passing cars.
