Which 2022 cars caused the most disappointment? There are many candidates and there are many reasons for this, both objective and personal. But now we are talking about three cars that “didn’t enter”.
First on the list are the related electric crossovers Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra. There is still no demand for them – there is no queue behind them, and the profitability of production is in question.
Toyota bZ4X
And the reason for everything is the shortcomings that are critical from an electric vehicle point of view. At first, customers were told that car batteries can charge very, very slowly in cold weather. Second, a recall of cars whose wheels could suddenly fall off was reported in June. Solving the problem was not easy and companies just bought cars from customers.

Thirdly, the power reserve of electric crossovers, as it turned out, is only half of what was declared. It took so long to find a solution to this problem that Toyota offered to buy back customers’ cars. More recently, European tests have shown that the electric car has reached half of the claimed range (220 km, not 442).
In second place is the Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup. This car drives smoothly, just like a crossover, and can carry motorcycles, ATVs, surfboards and other outdoor gear. In addition, the pickup had no competitors. The car was promised high sales, but …

But the Ford Maverick appeared, which turned out to be more economical and cheaper. As a result, buyers switched to a Blue Oval pickup and the Santa Cruz gradually faded into obscurity. It can also be bought in Russia (by parallel import). Sellers promise that the car will cost about 3 million rubles.
Now about the Volkswagen ID Buzz. In Germany, this electric bus costs from 64,581 euros (4.25 million rubles). At the same time, the power of the model is 204 horsepower, and the power reserve on one charge (claimed) reaches only 400 km. That is, a car for long trips was not adapted. But for urban courier services – just right.
