soft plastic

The plastic on the pre-reform Vesta didn’t even seem soft. Now the top of the dashboard is soft to the touch, the top of the door cards – in appearance. As well as a black ceiling and soft upholstery on the armrests of all four doors. The quality perception of the car has been improved.

Although almost all foreign cars classmates also lacked soft plastic. And for some, it looks no better than the West.

Top media system


Simple configurations are with audio preparation, medium ones get a media system with a small screen by modern standards and Yandex services. But the top versions have a vertically oriented “tablet” with a diagonal of 10.4 inches.

Both the diagonal and the position are also exclusive to the B-class. It is not yet clear what new functions multimedia will offer. In any case, the display will reflect the warnings from the parking sensors, which are exclusively acoustic on current Vestas.

Digital instrument panel

This is now the case with all new products. And the majority – in the basic configuration. If the preliminary information is correct, then Vesta, probably for the first time in the world, has implemented the output of the Yandex online map on the full display of the instrument panel. If the map can be dragged into the driver’s toolkit, it’s usually from the built-in offline navigation, outdated and irrelevant.

However, the new Vesta also has a number of significant shortcomings.

Few changes


With the exception of LED headlights (a fashionable option, but optional in the budget segment), not much has changed on the outside of the car. Box engines would have remained the same even without all this year’s upheavals. And now everything is aimed at installing only an eight-valve on Vesta.

Chassis, brakes and steering passed without changes (although there were no complaints about them anyway). So only the digital instrument panel and the large display of the media system remain essential.

You will not be happy with the price

1040 updated West, assembled from old stock components, were delivered to dealers. But AVTOVAZ has not announced the suggested retail prices for them. Pre-reform cars cost from 1.21 to 1.58 million rubles. They even asked for restyled copies from 1.9 to 2 million rubles. Outrageous for Vesta! And it’s likely that MSRPs will be even higher. Even despite the forced simplification of the design.

It is still difficult to say which of the announced innovations AVTOVAZ will be able to deliver to production cars in the current reality. Besides, when do they show up? Initially they talked about March 2023, but have already heard a more general guideline: the first quarter of 2023. We wait!
