It is planned to start assembling Chinese FAW-branded electric vehicles in the Saratov region, Governor Roman Busargin said.

An agreement was signed with AlfaTech that provides for the organization of assembly, production of batteries and charging stations. The location is in English town.

“The investor plans to create up to 270 jobs. The company’s partner is the Chinese automotive industry leader FAW. In subsequent years, production will be localized in phases. This will benefit the experience of our region, where there are already battery manufacturing companies.” — wrote the head of the Saratov region.

It is assumed that electric vehicles in particular will be used for taxis and car sharing.

Production will start in the second half of 2023.
