The European Union has banned the export of trucks and special equipment to Russia. In particular, truck tractors, medium-duty trucks, concrete mixers, bulldozers, tractors, communal street sweepers and dump trucks fall under the sanctions.
The ban will apply from July 10, 2022 for contracts signed before April 9 this year. The same document prohibits the export of fire equipment and technologies to Russia.
In 2022, the Russian truck fleet is about 2.7 million units, of which more than 27% are KamAZ trucks. More than 388.2 thousand trucks of major European manufacturers (Volvo, MAN, Scania, Mercedes-Benz) were operated in our country (about 15% of the total fleet). Another 83.5 thousand cars are Japanese Isuzu.
According to experts, sales of new trucks continued to increase until recently. According to the results of the first quarter of 2022, 8.1 thousand trucks were sold in Russia, which is 12% more than in the three months of 2021.
