Automakers have put a lot of effort into completing their cars with all sorts of auxiliary features. But, of course, the harsh Russian climate is not taken into account, which is why a number of options become useless in winter.
So, in the conditions of the Russian winter, the headlight washer turns into a useless and unnecessary accessory, which often damages the car. It is not dust that sticks to the headlights in winter, but a suspension of water, salt and chemicals. Therefore, it is impossible to wash off the hard crust that forms on the headlights, and with each new operation of the washing machine, the liquid creates spots that break the already weak stream of light.
It is better not to activate the eco-friendly mode, which is on many modern cars, in winter: when driving in slush, the engine will experience a lack of torque and there will not be enough traction on the wheels to stabilize the car when the encounters snowdrifts.
The automatic thruster is useless and even harmful in winter, it is better to turn it off. The camera reads the markings and tries to keep the car within the aisle it has indicated.
The activated camera can take snow on the road or tracks from another car as markers, after which the thruster intervenes in the steering and tries to correct the car’s trajectory.
