Cars coming soon Chery will be equipped with a new fourth-generation engine – G4G15 from Wuhu Ecotech Powertrain Co., Ltd. (subsidiary of Chery Group).
A prototype of the bike has successfully left the production line, which means that mass production will start soon.
The G4G15 engine, which came off the assembly line, has no turbine, and additional power is provided by hybrid technology – an electric motor powered by a battery.
The unit also has a number of modern technologies to increase efficiency. In particular, it mentions a recirculation system that improves fuel combustion. This technology has been known for a long time, but it is likely that the engineers completed it by improving performance – otherwise it would not have been reported separately.
So far, neither the size of the engine, nor the power, nor the consumption are known. The photo shows that this is a 4 cylinder engine. According to the company’s report, weight has dropped by 30% compared to the previous generation engine and fuel consumption by more than 12%. At the same time, low-speed torque is increased by more than 10%.
Series production and installation of the G4G15 engine in cars is scheduled for April 2023.
