The Bank of Russia proposed to temporarily calculate the repair costs under OSAGO, taking into account the prices of analogues of original spare parts, the regulator’s press service reported. This is a temporary measure and is proposed due to “great uncertainty in the cost of original parts and problems with their availability”.
The payment under OSAGO will be considered in this way with regard to vehicles of manufacturers from unfriendly states. For cars manufactured by manufacturers from countries that have not sanctioned Russia, the repair costs are further calculated taking into account the prices of original spare parts, and if they are not available on the market, they are based on the prices of analogues.

The insurers endorsed the Central Bank’s idea, noting that it would help curb the growth in the cost of mandatory “automotive citizenship” policies.
Some car manufacturers have left Russia, which has either made original spare parts for their cars not available in Russia at all, or made them unreasonably expensive. But on the market there is a large selection of automotive components that are not inferior to the original ones. Sometimes they are even produced in the same factories, on the same equipment and with the same quality standards.
“For example, the same windshield, which is produced at the Borsky glass factory in the Nizhny Novgorod region, cost 25,000 rubles before the sanctions with the automaker’s mark and 10 thousand rubles without the mark. And after the imposition of sanctions, the original became either completely impossible to produce, or it became several times more expensive, ”explained Igor Yurgens, chairman of the Russian Union of Motor Insurance.
The average prices of the spare parts directories now take into account the prices of both genuine and non-genuine spare parts.
