From December 11, 2022, the passage for trucks with a payload of more than 1.5 tons will be closed. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

“From 00:00 on 11 December 2022 (in the night from Saturday to Sunday), drivers of trucks with a payload of more than 1.5 tonnes (including Gazelle-type vehicles, both loaded and empty) are allowed when crossing The Kerch Strait should choose an alternative route by country road to travel or use a ferry crossing,” the statement said.

This restriction is temporary, but how long it will last is not reported on the website of the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management. It is only said to be reported later.

The restriction does not affect cars and buses that can drive over the Crimean Bridge in normal mode in both directions.

Recall that on October 8, 2022, a terrorist attack occurred on the Crimean bridge – a truck traveling on it exploded, which led to a partial collapse of two car spans and a fire on the railway section of the bridge. Three people died.
