An attempt to overcome Western sanctions using parallel imports is not entirely successful because there is a shortage of cars on the market that will persist into 2023, says Alexei Starikov, deputy general manager for new car sales at Avilon AG.
“Car shortages, as they are now, will be one of the most influential trends in 2023. Looking at the models today, the shortage is most noticeable in the sedan segment,” said Starikov.
There is no shortage for SUVs and crossovers, the specialist added. At the same time, thanks to parallel imports, such models that have never existed before come to Russia.
“When we list new items, we import for example Volkswagen Bora, Volkswagen ID.6 electric cars, Audi Q5 E-Tron, Faw Bestune NAT, new Jeep Grand Cherokee, Faw Bestune T99, Faw Besturn B70,” said the motorist. expert stated.
