Most employees of the Toyota plant in St. Petersburg have already been laid off, and the rest will follow before the end of the year, the Toyota Motor LLC press service reports.

Recall that shortly after the events in Ukraine, the company went out of business, and in September it became known that the production of cars would be completely stopped and the plant would be closed permanently.

In October, information came that the plant could be moved to Kazakhstan, the government of the republic considered this option “a great success for the country.”

In November, the plant underwent an unscheduled regulatory compliance inspection with the participation of safety officials.

In early December, the factory began mothballing and developing event development options.
