True, it has become more difficult to make a deal, and a customer with a Russian passport will most likely be refused a purchase.
The Geely dealer said it would be difficult to register such a car in Russia because the Belarusian and Russian PTS are completely different electronic documents. A customer from Russia solved this problem for four months.
Such problems arise due to the local production of Geely cars, other brands are sold to Russians without any problems, market participants say.
In the Belarusian dealerships of Kia and Renault, no restrictions were introduced for Russians, but the assortment in car dealerships is extremely scarce. They sell what they brought with them while the factory in Russia was still working. There are no new deliveries.
Belarusian official dealers do not have enough quota to import and meet all demand from Russia. There was a great shortage of cars from brands leaving Russia, especially in the middle and budget segments.
The leaders of sales in Belarus were the Chinese Geely and the Russian Lada, for which some Russians also went to Belarus in the autumn.
