In a new video, the Kalashnikov Concern showed tests of a dynamic security system marked 4S24. This protection is intended for the BMP-3.
During the tests, firing was done from a distance of 30 meters from an RPG-7 using a cumulative shot PG-7VS. This projectile penetrates armor with a thickness of 40 cm or more.
The armor plate on which the 4S24 block was mounted was never pierced. The protection threw back the cumulative beam and the steel was pierced only half an inch.
The 4S24 dynamic protection has a small mass due to the fact that it does not contain as many explosives as in other protections. The cubes themselves are very thin. In all key parameters, the 4S24 protection proved to be many times better than the protection of the previous generation. In addition, due to the reduction in mass, it has less effect on the characteristics of the infantry fighting vehicle.
