The functionality of cameras for taking photos and video recordings of traffic violations is much broader than what is currently used.
The general director of the company Astralab (development of software for the traffic police and traffic police cameras) Sergey Laskin noted that, if necessary, any of these functions can be activated.
So the cameras have a “dangerous driving” option. The algorithms contain an element of such driving – multiple rebuilds. But this can only be solved over a long stretch.
Another hidden option is the detection of driver non-compliance with the distance to the vehicle in front. There is no such thing in Russian law enforcement practice, but it remains an element of hidden functionality, the interlocutor noted.
The neural network underlying camera programming can also classify cars based on their size, for example if they are set to different speed limits.
