Top 10 popular cars do not recognize: what is being bought in Russia now

The Association of European Businesses has listed new car sales in November 2022. But without taking into account data from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Chery.

According to the AEB, sales of new cars in Russia fell by 61.6%, or 74,563 units, compared to November 2021. A total of 46,403 cars were purchased in the country last month.

Russian cars became the most popular. The first and second place are occupied by models Lada. This is Lada Granta, which was bought by more than 13 thousand people, and Lada Niva, sold in the amount of 6898 pieces. This is more than in November last year, with 5784 and 3280 respectively.

In third place is a foreign car. But not Korean, as before, but Chinese – Haval Jolion crossover (2021 car sold). The model is losing popularity, because last November it was bought for 319 units less than in November 2021.

If Chery does not exclude itself from the AEB report, third place would probably be the Tiggo 7 Pro crossover, which sold 2,134 cars in October. According to Autostat, Chery ranks second in Russia after AVTOVAZ, with 5,537 cars in November 2022.

Also in the top five were Geely Coolray and Haval F7, whose sales increased compared to November last year.

Of the interesting – 5 out of 10 places in the top were occupied by Chinese cars. UAZ Patriot was on the eighth line, despite the drop in turnover compared to November last year. Moreover, nothing could make it out of the top 10 kia sports time. Sales of this crossover are falling, but still remain quite high. Vesta’s sales problems are only related to the restart of production. Soon the model should return to its usual second place.
