Dominican Ambassador to Moscow Han Dannenberg said Western sanctions would benefit the Russian auto industry and increase demand for Russian Federation cars in South America.

“Sanctions provide certain opportunities, an impetus for the development of Russian industry,” said Dannenberg.

According to the ambassador, Lada was very popular in Latin America during the Soviet era.

“Now Lada looks no worse than a Japanese or German car,” the Dominican is sure.
