“Here we go?” or “You look great after washing”, “Beautiful, please, get the gas station” – there are many reasons to talk to your car. But who does it more often, men or women?
A recent study commissioned by CosmosDirekt (a German insurance company) provides the answer: almost one in five female drivers (19%) admit to talking to their car, for example to praise or curse it.
Among male drivers, there are significantly fewer such drivers – only 9%. In this case, the country or nationality is not important here, it is more a matter of a tendency to emotional perception of reality depending on gender, experts believe.
There are fewer gender differences in other aspects of car attachment: 18% of female drivers and 17% of male drivers consider their car a good friend and companion. Another 12% of female drivers and 18% of male drivers are proud of their car. And about one in ten women (11%) named their car. About 7% in men.
The study was conducted in Germany in October 2022 among 1,020 drivers aged 18 and older.
