Usually about 5,000 pounds are given for this model at auction. But the Jaguar X-Type, which belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, is not just a car, it’s history, so the sale for a much larger amount surprised no one.

Auction house Historics Auctioneers has not set a starting price for the car.

The green car, whose color is known as “emerald fire”, has covered at least 75,000 miles and has an extensive service history.

Although Her Majesty preferred the Land Rover Defender as her main vehicle, she regarded the Jaguar as “almost second” and was often photographed driving the car at Windsor Manor.
