The preservation procedure has begun at the plant of the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota in St. Petersburg. At the same time, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, possible options for the development of the production site are being worked out with the city administration.
Whether the unscheduled inspection with the cooperation of the National Guard and OMON, conducted on Wednesday, is in any way related to the preservation of the car plant, is not reported.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce recalled that the FSUE NAMI subordinate to the Ministry is not currently considering buying a Toyota factory.
In September, Toyota Motor, the official representative of Toyota in the Russian market, closed the assembly site in St. Petersburg. Since mid-November, the factory has been undergoing a process of staff reductions with the agreement of the parties.
