Last Sunday, 37-year-old Natalya Ukrainskaya lost control of her Kia car at 12 Svoboda Street in Moscow and drove onto the sidewalk, where she hit a woman and her two small children, one of whom was in a stroller.
The mother and four-year-old son died on the spot, while the one-year-old daughter miraculously survived and is now hospitalized in critical condition.
The investigation revealed that the female driver was in a state of drug use at the time of the accident. (drug of the cannabinoid group). In connection with the newly discovered circumstances, the materials of the criminal case were reclassified under paragraph 6 of art. 12.12 pm 3 Administrative Act (violation by a person driving a car of traffic regulations, committed in a state of intoxication and due to negligence resulting in the death of two persons). The penalty under this section is imprisonment from 8 to 15 years.
It turned out that the woman had already had a serious accident a year earlier and at the same time she was deprived of her rights by the court for a period of four months. On the night of January 7 last year, she ran a red signal in the center of Moscow and collided with a Mercedes. For repairs, the owner of a foreign car was charged 2.8 million rubles, the insurance covered only part of this amount. As a result, the court demanded 2.1 million from Natalia Ukrainskaya. She tried to challenge this decision in court, but lost her appeal in August this year.
