Car production in the Russian Federation collapsed – is it worth waiting for recovery?

In May 2022, the Russian passenger car industry experienced a real collapse – only 3.7 thousand cars were produced. But then the recovery began: already 13.4 thousand cars in June, 19.4 thousand in July, 24.7 thousand in August.

At the beginning of autumn, production again “dropped” a little to 23.8 thousand cars, but a rapid growth followed in October – 37.3 thousand cars were produced by all Russian factories. But a total of 386,000 cars have been assembled in the Russian Federation since January, which is almost three times less than a year earlier, according to Rosstat.

In September, the assembly of cars began at the Motorinvest plant in the Lipetsk region, in November – at the Moskvich plant in Moscow. Both companies use the SKD method to assemble Chinese cars under Russian brands. Experts note that the contribution of new enterprises to the auto industry is already there, but this year it will not be significant.

Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
