Next year, the plant will produce about 50,000 new cars, some of which will be used to upgrade the car-sharing fleet in Moscow, the Moscow region and other regions of Russia, said the capital’s vice mayor Maxim Liksutov.
Now the serial assembly of the first model of the plant, the Moskvich 3 crossover, is underway and at the end of next year it is planned to reach the volume of localization that, for example, the Renault plant had when it produced its cars at this enterprise .
Part of the body parts will also be produced here, it is planned to purchase Russian tires. It was decided to increase the localization of components every year. For example, the transport workers will carry out the mayor’s order for the Moskvich plant to produce a car from Russian components and on a Russian platform within a few years.
“We are working with KAMAZ on this task and I am sure we can handle it. 2025 is the target year, in which the car should already be. We will try to do it sooner,” said Maxim Liksutov.
Sales of the first Moskvich 3 crossovers will begin in December.
