German fans of Russian SUVs from the site niva-power.de and the Polish company campingmode.pl have developed a universal Forest kit that turns a minivan into a camper. It took 15 months to develop the kit.

The components are made of thick-walled plywood on CNC milling machines. Initially, Forest will be packaged in a box measuring 1099 x 610 x 544 mm. The presentation set was installed in the UAZ SGR.

The modular design includes a kitchen, bedroom and storage system. The upper part folds out into a double bed (mats are included), under which you can put food and stuff.

And a fully-fledged kitchen slides on sleds under the bed. In the parking lot it must be pulled out, then a two-burner gas stove, a countertop, a sink, a table for cups and plates, a niche for a refrigerator and – for a fee – drawers with dishes become available.

Hidden under the tabletop is a water tank with a powerful filter – you can use almost any water that comes your way. There’s even a shower, but it had to be taken to the trunk.

The kit is suitable not only for the “bread”, the creators have already tried its installation on 40 models of minibuses and minivans. In Europe Forest costs 5240 euros.

  • Not cheap, but the kit can be rented for a holiday and is a bit cheaper when purchased than the Matrioska from Italy.
  • “Behind the Wheel” can be seen on RuTube.
