A new diesel engine was put into production at the Gorky Automobile Plant – as previously reported by Za Rulem, the diesel engine, assembled under license from the Chinese company Foton, received our designation GAZ G21A.
It is known that in May of this year GAZ mastered the casting of cast iron blocks for these engines.
And now the characteristics of this engine, which has not yet been officially announced by the manufacturer, have hit the social networks. Reportedly, the engine capacity is 2.5 liters, the power is 149 hp and the environmental class is Euro 2.

The figures were published by the Dvaris company, which sells GAZ cars, but the original post was later removed from Telegram.
It is believed that in the future the “lightened” engine will be installed on most of the GAZ line: GAZelle Next, GAZelle NN, Sobol NN and Valdai Next.
