Driving expert Mikhail Kolodochkin told in detail how to screw up the vending machine in the car. This mistake is made by many drivers.

For example, when they switch to automatic cars after mechanics and don’t change their habits. So at the mechanics they are used to putting the selector switch to “neutral” at every stop at a traffic light. And on a car with a gun, they try to do something similar by putting the lever in P mode (Park, Park) so that the car is guaranteed to go nowhere.

Such drivers are immediately noticeable by the flashing of the reversing lights during stops, when the selector moves through the intermediate position R (Reverse, Reverse).

But the box does not like it – the claws wear out quickly. Yes, and the engine will be a little harder: with a dynamic start from one spot, it will have to work tight.

Such a switch is only justified during a long stop, for example at a railway crossing.

In other cases leave the lever in the D (drive) position while keeping your foot on the brake pedal. After all, the machine was invented precisely to make the driver’s life easier and not to make him pull the lever again.

Frequent shifting is just one of the reasons that render an automatic unusable. Read about others in the article “How drivers screw up the automatic transmission – 6 blunders”.
