Often, to save money, motorists opt for gas stations with a cheaper price tag. Auto experts warn that refueling with such gasoline has serious consequences for the car’s engine and fuel system.
One of the main signs that low-quality fuel has entered the gas tank is what they call a strange metal knock in the engine caused by detonation. Only refueling with high-quality gasoline can “cure” it.
Loss of traction, as well as a feeling that the engine is starting to “troit”, are also signs that fake petrol has been filled.
The low quality of the fuel can be indicated by the smell of hydrogen sulfide in the cabin during stops or when reversing.
And check the candles: If they have a reddish soot, it means that “scorched” gasoline gets into the tank quite regularly, experts at the New Cars portal warn.
