The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is prepared to exclude Nissan from the list of parallel imports, but only if the after-sales service for branded cars in the country is established at the appropriate level, TASS reports, citing the ministry’s press service.
Similarly, French Renault was previously excluded from the parallel import list when AVTOVAZ took on warranty obligations for the brand and supplied the brand’s cars with spare parts.
It was previously reported that all assets of the Nissan auto group, including the factory, will become state-owned through the Federal State Unitary Enterprise NAMI. This will happen in early November.
Even before, Nissan had agreed with AVTOVAZ that our company would provide after-sales service for branded cars and provide spare parts. And dealers who continue to work with cars of the Japanese brand, sign an appropriate agreement with AVTOVAZ. Our brand will manage the spare parts warehouse and organize the delivery of necessary parts and consumables.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade, which introduced the parallel import mechanism, emphasized that the list of imported goods covered by it is flexible: it will include and exclude companies depending on the change in the situation.
Let us also remind you that under parallel (gray) imports, it is allowed to import goods of some brands sold in other countries (but not in Russia) into the country without the permission of the copyright owner.
