Lots of lanes, high speed limits, convenient interchanges – it seems that everything is thought out on the MKAD. But the vice president of the National Automobile Union, Anton Shaparin, warns that the Moscow ring road is dangerous because of the lack of infrastructure: it clearly lacks the necessary length of the acceleration lane.

“If you taxi out of a gas station, the chance that someone will bump into you is very high”, The expert explained.

Another problem inherent in high-speed highways, Shaparin mentioned, is the stopping of cars after accidents. They do not leave the scene of an accident, waiting for the traffic police, resulting in secondary accidents.

The number of accidents on the Moscow ring road is also growing due to the road surface that has worn down over the years, leading to the formation of a rut, the expert told Izvestia.
