A new fraud method with bank cards has been registered in the capital. According to Baza, on October 11, a courier in a car fell victim to fraudsters – he received an order to be delivered to a closed medical facility. Its entrance was through the barrier.
The customer who placed the order told the courier how to issue an access pass: according to her, you have to wait for a text message with a code and then dictate this code to her over the phone.
The courier did just that, but when he arrived at the scene, he found that no one had given him a pass. And then he discovered the loss of 35 thousand rubles, deducted from his card by three transactions around the time he called the code on the phone.
It is currently unclear where the SMS comes from and how the scheme works exactly. A criminal case has been opened for fraud. And for anyone associated with frequent travel around the city, it remains to exercise more caution.
