Russia-friendly countries are ready to supply the missing auto parts for the production of AVTOVAZ, said Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The ministry will make every effort to produce the maximum line of Lada at AvtoVAZ in any scenario with Renault.
“I think colleagues at Renault will have to say this separately themselves, but we are in talks with them. These are parallel tracks for both Avtoframos (currently CJSC Renault Russia) and AVTOVAZ. For AVTOVAZ it is a bit easier, i.e. replacing suppliers from friendly countries who are ready to supply these components, and thus replace the missing ones,” TASS reports the minister’s words.
Now a window of opportunity for the production of auto parts has opened for Russian enterprises. Through the Industrial Development Fund, a program was set up with state support for soft loans with the possibility to partially offset them when production starts.
Manturov expects that the situation with car sales in the Russian market will improve, it is not worth judging the first quarter. Until February there was an increase, in March a decrease. Now we have to adapt to the situation, change the logistics and see what happens in the second quarter. In turn, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will make decisions that will help both the market and auto production recover.
The Association of European Businesses (AEB) recently released data for March: a total of just over 55,000 vehicles were sold, 62.9% less than in the same month a year ago.
