Car chases in good movies are not complete without spectacular accidents. What we often see on the screen is just computer graphics. But it is much more effective to break a real car. And here are the 10 most expensive of them.
According to the insurance company Confused, the title of the most expensive car destroyed in a movie belongs to the Porsche 917K, which took part in the shooting of the 1971 Le Mans movie. An interesting fact – according to the scenario, the car was not allowed to crash . But the car driven by David Piper had a puncture. Despite serious damage, the iconic racing car was restored. A similar Porsche 917K was sold in 2017 for $14 million (857 million rubles at the current exchange rate). Today this hypercar is worth even more.
In second place is the Aston Martin DB10 from the 2015 James Bond movie Specter. It had a custom body that showcased the design of the next generation of sports cars. The famous chase of the Jaguar C-X75 in Rome ended with the DB10 drowning in the river.
