The Romanian low-budget SUV Dacia Duster will remain one of the Renault Group’s best-selling vehicles beyond 2023. The main argument for the third-generation Duster will also be its low price. However, the crossover will continue to develop, also in terms of design.

It is known that they will work on the optics – the lines of the Y-shaped daytime running lights will become wider, the bumpers will change completely, the slots for the fog lamps will become vertical, the sideline of the body will also receive a different pattern. The advantage of the car in the initial configurations remains the unpainted body panels, which not only lowers the price, but also makes the Duster more reliable.

Like all future Dacias, Duster will also be based on the CMF-B (Common Modular Family) platform. A fully electric version of the Duster is not planned, but a hybrid is possible – for example by adapting a hybrid drive of 143 hp. (105 kW) from Renault Clio.

Whether Dacia will produce a hybrid depends not least on the introduction of new environmental requirements – with the introduction of the Euro 7 emissions standard, a hybrid option becomes more likely.

Instead of a diesel engine, the Dacia Duster-2023 should have a gas version, as with other Dacia models.

Another curious moment: the new Jogger has a 1.0 liter three-cylinder Eco-G petrol engine with 100 hp, which is also suitable for the Duster, but it is not clear whether it makes sense to put an expensive engine in a budget model. this will immediately increase the price. However, a special eco version may not be rejected either.

  • As for Russia, it is still not clear how Renault will build its work here. Statements from headquarters come differently.
