The premiere of a new car from Iran Khodro, the TF21 hatchback, took place in Iran. It is based on the established “French” Peugeot 206.

But this is not really a hatchback, and it can be considered a crossover conditionally due to the fact that the company has made several significant changes to the platform.

Other good news is that the model got a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 110 hp. In addition to the five-speed manual, a six-speed automatic will also be available (instead of the 206’s four-speed transmission, as one would expect).

The equipment of the budget Iran Khodro TF21 is good. Beyond the system abs there will also be a stability control system, as well as a tire pressure monitoring system, light sensors, rain sensors and much more. There are a total of three trim levels.

The bad news is that production of the Iran Khodro TF21 won’t start until September. But by then, the Iranian auto industry should already be entering the Russian market, including Iran Khodro.
