Tires have risen in price so much in the past year that not every car enthusiast can afford to buy new ones. If the old tires have reached the “just throw away” status, you can replace the car with used tires.
Expert Sergey Mishin advises when choosing used tires to first pay attention to the cord and tread. With winter tires the tread depth must be at least 4 mm and with summer tires at least 3 mm.
You should also check the tires for cuts and possible hidden damage. It is necessary to evaluate how repairable they are and whether they affect driving safety.
“You should refrain from buying Chinese rubber brands, because in their case the low price hides the same quality and poor performance”– summarized the expert in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
