According to statistics from AlfaStrakhovanie, manufacturer’s recommended retail prices (RRP) for spare parts for some cars have increased by 70% since the beginning of the year. On average, the price increase was 25.8%.

The calculation is made on the basis of the most popular consumables that are most often affected in an accident: these are windows, headlights, fenders, hood, trunk lid, bumper and radiator grilles.

The largest price increase for the period from January to June of this year was observed for the Subaru brand – by 67%.

The following is the schedule:

  • Suzuki – 66%
  • volvo – 55%
  • Audi and Mazda – 39% each
  • Ford – 35%
  • BMW and Mini – 33%
  • Genesis – 32%
  • Peugeot – 31%
  • Kia and Mitsubishi – 29% each.

The insurance company notes that new logistics supply chains are now being built and the shortage of spare parts has not been completely eliminated. Previously accepted basic pricing principles became irrelevant, since there are practically no original spare parts on the market, they were replaced by analogues from friendly countries.

In part, the shortage began to be filled through new supply channels – through some CIS countries and through other countries that continue to cooperate with Russia.

“In any case, a price cut for spare parts is unlikely in the near future due to global inflation and rising logistics costs”– said the director of the insurance payments department of the company Alexander Kharagezov.
