Car owners are already worried about the search for winter tires, weather forecasters predict a cold snap in the near future. Many popular tire manufacturers have left the Russian market. The rest had disrupted logistics supply chains, but this segment is not doing too badly.

Stocks of winter tires started to build up last year, bearing in mind that 1.6 million new cars will be sold in 2022. As we see now, by a wide margin, it will not be possible to sell that many cars. Some of the belts were intended for delivery to the conveyor belt factories, but as many of them stopped working, this volume also filled warehouses for sale.

Who is on the market?

In total, there are more than 80 million tires in the country, 33 million of which are winter tires, Avtodom Altufievo told Rossiyskaya Gazeta. And every year Russian citizens buy about 4 million tires, calculated in the AvtoSpetsTsentr Group of Companies. So there is no shortage of tires in the country.

Moreover, not all manufacturers are from the Russian market: Continental produces tires in Kaluga, Bridgestone in Ulyanovsk and Pirelli in Voronezh. Good quality and affordable price from Chinese manufacturers, now their market share is about 25%. They supply tires to Russia from Hong Kong, South Korea, Turkey, Uzbekistan. Russian factories also continue to operate.

Prices

Tire prices, after a sharp price increase in the spring (up to 30%), are back at the level of December 2021. Now the average cost of a set of winter tires from a Russian manufacturer is 20 thousand rubles, a set from Belarus costs 25 thousand rubles. Tires from China cost 28 thousand rubles.

However, many car owners run to the store when the first snow falls. And when there is a sharp demand, prices rise. Therefore, despite the good supply of the market, a seasonal price increase is inevitable, although experts do not expect a significant increase.

Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes

Without ties, public order cannot be guaranteed, and medical care cannot be provided to those who need it.

“Behind the Wheel” together with the Popular Front began to collect money that will be used to buy tires for cars of the People’s Police and operational services of the LPR and DPR: ambulances, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, vehicles delivering humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of Donbass and army equipment.
