The new on-demand transport service “Chelnok” has recently been launched in Tatarstan, we have already talked about this.

Essentially, this is a new type of public transport that can adapt to demand in real time, based on passengers’ requests.

To use the service, you need to download the application, register, order a trip, pay with a bank card and go to the place.

There is no need for road transfers, as the Shuttle minibuses themselves have no routes – they are constantly generated and transformed in real time.

By the way, the Muscovites are already familiar with the Shuttle. True, in the capital, the service launched in collaboration with Deptrans is called “On the Way” (white label) and from “Chelnok” – technological filling.

“Behind the wheel” spoke to the head of the startup, Daniyal Garifullin, and learned the details of what the project is now and how it will develop further.

Daniyal GarifullinGeneral Director of the service “Chelnok”:

Service

— We position ourselves as a new mode of transport, which is somewhere between bus transport and taxis, both in terms of comfort and cost. In Moscow, a one-time trip costs 51 rubles. In Naberezhnye Chelny, after testing is completed, the price is the same, but can be slightly adjusted. In the meantime, a one-time trip will cost one ruble.

In Moscow, our partner uses a Mercedes Sprinter with 15–17 seats and in Chelny, JAC Sunrays with eight seats are used. The cars are equipped with climate control, comfortable leather seats with armrests and seat belts, an automatically opening door, interior lighting. Comfort is also increased by the ‘sedentary’ service concept, which does not imply the presence of standing places in the transport. We get positive feedback about the comfort of the cars and the service.

It should be added that the authors of the startup are now negotiating and, according to the plans, by the end of this year the Shuttle should start operating in two or three other Russian cities. And next year they plan to launch it in ten new cities of the Russian Federation, as well as bring it to the international market – we are talking about at least three locations outside of Russia.

  • And soon new signs will appear on the roads of the Russian Federation – for electric vehicles and buses.
