Among the promising partners from China, FAW care is especially considered, Vedomosti writes, citing two sources.

Nissan recently transferred its factory, a research center in St. Petersburg and a sales and marketing center in Moscow, for 1 euro to the Russian NAMI test center, subordinate to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It is clear that the symbolic amount indicates that the Japanese intend to return to our market: too much effort and money has been invested here.

According to one of the scenarios, a Russian company will manage the Nissan factory and the Chinese FAW will assemble the cars. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has not commented on the restart of the Nissan factory.

Experts believe that in this case, KAMAZ can play the role of an intermediary – helping to obtain the necessary documents and permits and provide new production of components.

Now the main task is to save the assembly site and the employees. Whether this will work, however, is difficult to assess. There are now more free industrial estates in Russia than Chinese companies wanting to enter our market. And partners from the Middle Kingdom are acting very cautiously – no one has canceled the risk of secondary sanctions already aimed at them.

The design capacity of the Nissan plant is more than 100,000 vehicles. It is also unknown whether so many cars are needed on the Russian market these days.

The FAW brand is now represented in Russia by three crossovers: Besturn X40 – from 1,392,000 rubles, Besturn X80 – from 1,508,000 rubles and Bestune T77 – from 1,919,000 rubles.
